A question

Ask yourself this:

You are on your death bed with hours to live and your children/grandchildren come up to the side of the bed. The hold your hand and look into your eyes. They squeeze your hand and ask you, "How should we live our lives? What is the one most important thing you can tell us about how we should be what we should do?"

What would you tell them?

Now ask yourself this.......are you true to your own advice?

That's one question I have been asking myself a lot lately...
Thank you so much... :)

Yes I am. Ever since we were both at school, I had the foresight to think about looking back at my life, and saying that I was glad that I tried and knew.
I remember when we both were in the Oxbridge candidacy and listening to one teacher say that she never applied because she was too scared of knowing that she wasn't good enough. Like anything in life, you have to put yourself there to know what you can and can't do. There are many things that I can't do, but I am happy knowing what I can.

And the advice would be: never live your life so that you look back and wish that you had done other things. Do them when you have the opportunity.

Be happy. It took me a while to realize that doing what makes me and my family happy is whats best for, well, me and my family.

I don't want to be lying on the street with my lifeblood draining out of me after being hit by a bus, thinking, "Damn. I should have eaten dessert last night."

Forget diets.

@Lena - good luck with finding the answers.

@Fernando - That seems a lifetime ago. But true it is better to try and to fail than never to have tried at all. Wise words, wise words.

@adowling -I guess the first step is sometimes working out exactly what it is that makes you happy?

@class-factotum - Indeed, we are all one step away from slipping off this mortal coil

@HB - Reminds me about the joke about being on a sea food diet.......when I see food I eat it!
